Litter page
Please remember when contacting me that I want to know more about what you are looking for in a pup.  This will
help me determine if I am going to have a pup that would work for you. I basically want to know what type of pup you
are looking for and what your future goal is for the pup. We place pups in performance, herding, pet, therapy, and
conformation homes.  I like to know what your ideal Border Collie would be.  People like different temperaments so
tell me what your idea of a great Border Collie is. The more I know the easier it will be to determine what type of pup
you want and if we will have a pup you may be happy with.

Please read
how I raise my pups so you will know a little more about what to expect from me. My pups hips and
eyes are guaranteed in writing and I offer a lifetime of training help and support.   I want to work with puppy buyers in
any way I can and I enjoy making new friends who share my love for the breed.

I do what I can to provide healthy and social puppies.   I do offer a hip, eye and hearing guarantee in my contract.

A pup is a lifetime commitment for both the new owner and the breeder and we take this seriously. If for any reason
you can't take care of the pup anymore or no longer want to keep your pup, adult dog or rescue I require the dog be
shipped back to me. I do require a written contract for all of our pups. (rescues too)

I have recently been made aware of a Border Collie breeder site that shows an article regarding OFA hip testing of
Catahoula's.   The article is not about
Border Collies but an entirely different breed all together.  The article says
breeding only dogs who can pass the hip x-rays will limit the gene pool of the Catahoula.   The Border Collie site this
article is on is naturally a site where the breeder doesn't do any health testing at all.
The problem is the gene pool for registered Catahoula's  is very much more limited than the gene pool for Border
Collies. With Border Collies out gene pool is much larger and we have to option of importing new lines from other
countries or from other registries too.  By not breeding Border Collies with bad hips we would NOT be limiting the
gene pool at all!
The article listed on the Border Collie breeders site is just an excuse for why they are NOT doing the right thing and
breeding only dogs who can pass hip testing.  Breeders should want to breed only healthy dogs who can pass basic
health tests.  If a person is willing to take a pup from a Border Collie breeder who breeds dogs who can't pass or are
not OFA'd then that puppy buyer is promoting bad breeding practices.   Bad hips can cause horrible pain in some
dogs and it can require multiple surgeries to ease the pain associated with the HD.  There is NO reason to breed a
dog with bad hips or a dog who has not been hip scored.  Breeding dogs who are not tested is just a way for
backyard breeders to sell puppies without spending the money for OFA's or to sell puppies out of unsound dogs.

A breeder can't really guarantee hips if they are not testing the parents.
